Designed following the published guidelines of the American Diabetes Association, our 8 Inch diabetes portion control plates are divided into three main section.
The largest portion on our portion plates is for nonstarchy vegetables. Nonstarchy vegetables are lower in carbohydrates, so they have minimal impact on your blood sugar. They are also high in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, making them an essential part of a healthy diet.
Filling half your plate with nonstarchy vegetables means you will get plenty of servings of these superfoods.
25% of your plate is dedicated to lean proteins. Foods high in protein such as fish, chicken, lean beef, soy products, and cheese are all considered protein foods.
The remainder of your plate is for carbohydrates. Foods that are higher in carbohydrates include grains, starchy vegetables, beans and legumes, fruit, yogurt, and milk. These foods have the most significant effect on blood sugar.
Limiting your portion of carbohydrate foods to one-quarter of your plate can help keep blood sugars from rising too high after meals.

Make eating much less stressful
I wish these were microwave safe. I like that they are dishwasher safe. They are definitely changing what I eat and how I eat. I have tried so many different apps and diet plans and they were all just too complicated. This is very simple. I just fill the main portion with veggies and/or fruits and then a little bit of carbs and a little bit of meat for protein. For me the biggest difference is in the past my biggest portion was always carbs and it was a lot bigger than the portion you get on this plate. Now I'm filling up on veggies but I still get a taste of my mashed potatoes and gravy. I provided a picture for an example of how much carbs you would get. I was surprised that that little section on the plate for carbs is actually only about 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes, for example. It looks like a lot more once it's on the plate. I like that when I finish an entire meal I'm full. I also figured out that these plates aren't that much smaller than my original plates they just don't have the big lip around the edge. When I set the plate inside my other plate the bottom is about the same size. Because I've never been a big veggie eater but I have that big portion on the plate I have to fill, these plates have helped me learn to eat better and discover more veggies recipes. So they are definitely changing what I eat in a good way. So far using these plates has been the most simple way for me to eat better and with correct portions. If I don't have to put much thought or effort into it I'm more apt to do it. I'd give them 5 stars if they were microwavable. I recommend these plates. You get two to an order.

Pros:
1) This plate helps keep my portion size under control.
2) The plate has very nice looking graphics and has sayings on it that are inspiring.
3) The plate is divided up in a way that takes all the guesswork out of my measurements.
Cons:
1) You can't microwave with food on the plate.
2) You can't microwave with food on the plate.
3) you can't microwave with food on the plate. This is a huge deal to me because nobody has time to place food on the plate to make your measurements then place food on another plate to microwave it then place your food back on your plate.
Final Thoughts: My total thoughts are this, I like the plate, I like that it is split up into three sections that make it easy for you to measure out. I really enjoy the fact that there is nice little graphics as well as sayings on it that are inspiring. I just can't get over the fact that they made this plate non microwavable. What is the point of having a plate like this, I guess they want you to only have food already prepared in order to use this plate properly. And I think that was a poor choice of material.
Not bad but, way smaller than I expected.

First Impressions: Honestly, I think I was pretty excited to get these plates. I have been trying to lose weight now for a little while but have been terribly unsuccessful. I suppose you could say that a decent portion of this issue is my fault, however I do have multiple health issues that are not exactly playing on my side and being wheelchair bound definitely makes it more difficult. I do not have diabetes I just start getting these plates could help me with my portion control, and they have shown me that I have been piling too much on my plate, which I already knew but I didn't exactly know it was is bad is it is. These plates are pretty small and when you take them out-of-the-box, you kind of look at them as if they are plates for children because we in 2022 have extremely large plates and the average home.
